Obituary for Delbert Blare

Delbert Gerald Blare, 65 of Melbourne, Fl formerly of Shinnston passed away suddenly on October 15, 2017 at Health First’s Holmes Regional Medical Center.
He was born on June 24, 1952 in Clarksburg to the late Challens Delbert and Imogene Pearl Crim Blare. On February 28, 1972 Delbert married his best friend and soul mate, Debra Blare.
He is survived by his wife; their 3 children, Delbert Blare, Jr., Freeport, OH; Hope (Patrick) Jordan, Cambridge, OH; and Crystal (Brian) Huff, Moundsville, WV. Five grandchildren, Brian (Megan) Bise, Moundsville, WV; Brianna Huff and fiancé, Michael Wilcox, Elyria, OH; Taylor Haught, Cambridge, OH; Joshua Haught, Cambridge, OH and Nicholas Haught, Cambridge, OH. Delbert has 1 great granddaughter, Brinley Renee Bise that he never got to meet. He is also survived by his one and only sibling, Mary Elizabeth Kuhens and her husband Rusty of Shinnston. Delbert helped raise their niece, Amy (Randy) Stull, Vienna and looked upon her as his daughter. She has 10 children that he considered as his grandchildren, Matthew, Stephen, Jonathan, Makayla, Nathaniel, Elianna, Josiah, Sophia, Emmeline, Alaina, and one on the way.

In addition to his parents, Delbert was preceded by his paternal Grandparents, Roy and Hattie (Jett) Blare and maternal Grandparents, Howard and Pauline (LeMasters) Crim.

Delbert graduated from Dyer Time Ministries Bible Training Center located in Moundsville, WV in 2009 with his Doctorate in Biblical Studies. He worked at Dyer Times Ministries Bible Training Center as an Evangelist. Delbert was a member of the Cornerstone Church of God in Melbourne, FL. Delbert retired from Dominion Transmission Corp. after 36 years of service. He recently worked at Walmart. Delbert enjoyed spending time on the beach with his family. He enjoyed volunteering, and recently helped board up the church for Hurricane Irma. Delbert was a man of his word. Delbert is a hero, before he passed he saved another man from the riptides on the shore of Spessard Holland Park, FL, but was overcome by the waves on his way back in.

A graveside service will be at 11AM on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Jett Cemetery, O’dells Knob with Pastor Dan Adkins officiating. Donations may be made to the Delbert Blare Memorial Fund at
