Patricia "Pat" Ashton Allawatt
Patricia "Pat" Ashton Allawatt, 85, of Shinnston passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at United Hospital Center.
She was born on Oct 24, 1932 in San Francisco, CA to the late Rueben Ashton and Gertrude Olive Louise Driscoll Ashton. In 1959, she married her beloved husband, Arthur Allawatt, whom proceeded in her death on September 1, 1995.
Pat is survived by her sisters, Shirley Arnett of Walnut Creek, CA; Jerilyn Handerson of Blytheville, AK; brother, Franklin Ashton of Phoenix, AZ; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Pat was preceded by her sisters, Diane Mason, and Dorothy Ford; brother, Norman Ashton; sisters-in-law, Katherine; Mary Veltri; Teresa; Lillian; Julia; Mary Hawker; Frances; Elizabeth; Teresa “Terri”; and Virginia; and brothers-in-law, Dick Allawatt; Sam Allawatt; and Joe Spano.
She was an active member of St Ann’s Catholic Church in Shinnston. Pat was an adorer at the Blessed Margaret of Castello Eucharistic Adoration Chapel in Shinnston. She helped serve dinners at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Pat worked for many years at Foodland in Shinnston. She was a member of the Shinnston Garden Club and the American Legion Post 31. Pat helped deliver for Meals on Wheels.
Friends and Family will be received at Harmer Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Holy Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Sunday at 7:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church on Monday, November 6, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Father Tom Dagel as celebrant.
