Condolences

Condolence From: Marci Kennedy
Condolence: Red socks. How can something so simple sum up a life? To many of us in Band or Sports, it really means so much. Red socks are bright, warm and brings attention. You walk in to the cafeteria and see those socks, your heart warms. You are not alone. Mr. Currey, you supported Liberty with those red socks, but to us they meant so much more! Thank you and Thank God for sending you to us!

Condolence: I'm so sad to hear of Wilson's passing, the world lost a great one.

I'm forever thankful for the years we spent as his neighbor. He was the best neighbor we could have ever asked for. Our conversations over the fence were always great with lots of life lessons and advice from Wilson. He'd drop off vegetables from his garden on our porch each season and after hearing about a wooden nutcracker decoration I wanted, he went to work and made me one from scratch! We still use that and the santa he made us each year! We'll forever miss him! ❤

Condolence: Wilson Currey was a man of integrity and high moral character. I am truly thankful that he was chosen to be the first principal of Liberty High School. His leadership set the tone for the school and made it a great place to work or to attend. His treatment of the students was friendly, fair, and firm. just what you want from a principal. I was glad to be on the faculty when he was at Liberty and to have remained his friend after retirement. My condolences to the family. He will be missed but not forgotten.

Condolence: My sincerest sympathy to Mr. Curry’s family. He was my principal the entire time I was a student at RW, from junior high to senior high. He ran a “tight” ship but he was always fair. He demanded our respect and we always wanted to give it to him. The world today needs more principals like him. Melba Hildreth Melton ‘72

Condolence From: Robert W. Faris
Condolence: My prayers go out to Mr. Currey's family and close friends. He was our principal at Roosevelt Wilson and one of the most honorable men I have ever met. He was a real straight shooter and back in those days, I often wished he could have been our football coach. Robert W. Faris, Port Orange, Fl.
