Norma Sue Ellis, 71, of Shinnston passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. She was born on March 15, 1948 to the late William and Ruth Norman Mitchell.

Norma is survived by her loving husband John P. Ellis whom she married on December 5, 1970 sharing 50 wonderful years together; brother, Joseph Mitchell of St Louis, MO; dear friend of over 53 years is Judy Skubic of St. Louis, MO; sons, J. Michael Ellis and his wife Jennifer of Dublin, CA, Robert W. Ellis and his wife Stephanie of Shinnston, WV, Anthony J. Ellis and his wife Amanda of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren, Cameron, Cayley, Jackson, Preston and Tyler.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her mother and father-in-law, John and Jean Ellis of Shinnston; sister-in-law, Mary Mitchell, of St. Louis MO.
Norma was employed at the 1st National Bank in St. Louis, MO, the City of Shinnston, WV, Napa Auto Parts, Wholesale Carpet, Eureka Vacuum Cleaners and was the General manager at the Sunset Drive – In. She enjoyed working in her garden, loved Christmas time and decorating, collecting salt and pepper shakers, was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinal Fan, but mostly she cherished her family and grandchildren.
Friends will be received at the Harmer Funeral Home, 300 Pike St., Shinnston on Thursday, February 13, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM with Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:30 PM, a liturgy of Catholic burial will be Friday, February 14, 2020 at 10:30 AM with Father Gary Naegele presiding. Interment will following at the WV National Cemetery,Pruntytown.
