Kimberly Kay Maxwell, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on May 23rd at her home with family by her side. Kim was loved dearly by her friends and family. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. She always placed others before herself. She had welcomed Jesus into her life as her Savior and was baptized at South Ridge Church in Fairmont.
She was born January 29th, 1962. Kim was a caregiver. She loved her family, friends, and her four Shih Tzu pups more than anything. Kim loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers planted around her home. She also loved watching WVU football games, crafting, and going to the beach.
Kim is survived by her loving husband, Brian Maxwell of 31 years. Also surviving are three daughters, Amanda Newlon and her fiancé Curtis Adams, Shari Tonkery and her husband Aaron Tonkery, and Melissa Maxwell; and five grandchildren, Nicholas Maxwell, Douglas Newlon, Kylie Newlon, Bentley Tonkery, and Paxton Tonkery. She is also survived by her mother Mabel Hardman; two sisters, Diane Wentz and her husband David Wentz, and Janie Price and her fiancé Donnie Garrett; and one brother in-law, Gary Maxwell and his wife Alice Maxwell. Kim also has several nieces, nephews, and extended family who also survive her.
Kim was preceded in death by her daughter, Cheyenne Maxwell; her father, Harold Hardman; and her mother and father in law, Lillian and Lylburn Maxwell.
Due to COVID-19 a private visitation will be held for the family. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, May 27,2020 at 1:00 PM at Shinnston Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Darren Alkire officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of her father Harold Hardman.

Kim and I were only 5 days apart in age and I have fond memories all the fun we had growing up and through high school. She was always there for everyone and I really appreciated her being there for my mom and dad and then just my dad after mom passed. I will really miss talking and seeing you cuz. RIP. Love, Sandy

Janie and Diane, God Bless you at this time, I can't imagine the sorrow you feel now. We have happy memories of years and years ago when everyone was together for the kid's birthday parties, holidays, your Dad's retirement party and so many others. I pray that soon all the happy memories will replace the sadness. Kim was a beautiful person. Take care, love, Becky and Dave Shaffer

Kim and I were best friends in High School and distance over the years didn’t stop our friendship. I will always remember our fun times and especially her laugh. Together, we were known as Laverne and Shirley by her family. She was the true definition of a loyal and best friend. Love you, my friend!❤️
