Margery Lulu Rogers McCormick,102, went to be with the Lord on June 10, 2020. She was born on January 14, 1918 in Akron, Ohio. Her parents were Atley Earl and Gay Boggess Rogers who both preceded her in death. Ms. McCormick currently lived in Beckley, WV with her son. She previously lived 65 years at her farm on Big Elk in Wallace WV.

Surviving are three loving children Roger (Delores) McCormick Painesville, Ohio, Dennis (Patty) McCormick Beckley, WV and Kathleen (George) Everett Roscommon, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years Ralph (Tarzan) McCormick, one daughter Carol Ann McCormick, sisters Mary Lee Hines, Martha Nathanson and a brother James Rogers.

Margery graduated in 1936 from Lumberport High School and continued her education at Salem WV College. She enjoyed her meetings with the Women’s Club and was elected the Harrison County Bell in 1991.

She was an active member of Esler Chapel Methodist Church on Big Elk prior to moving to Beckley. She taught herself to play the piano at age 60 so she could provide the music for Church Services. She also learned to drive and obtained her driver’s license at an early age of 70. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, sewing and reading.

She was fortunate to have seven Grandchildren, four Step Grandchildren, 29 Great Grandchildren, four Step Great Grandchildren, thirteen Great- Great -Grandchildren and three Step Great- Great- Grandchildren.

She also enjoyed having family, friends and church members over for a visit. She was the happiest when her Grandchildren would visit and play a good game of scrabble with her or listen to her talk about the good ole days.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Esler Chapel Methodist Church in Big Elk.

Due to Covid-19 a private family viewing will be at Harmers Funeral Home. The public is invited to attend funeral services on Monday, June 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Robinson Cemetery on Big Elk with Pastor Martha Holbert officiating.

We thoroughly enjoyed Margery's and Ralph's hospitality and support when I was serving as supply pastor at Eslar Chapel United Methodist Church in the early 60s. We had a standing invitation to visit for a meal or for a chat. We were blessed for having her in our lives. Floyd and Willa Hoskinson
