To my late friend of 2 1/2 years who did her level best to help me transition as a daughter who had lost her Mom. Had it not been for Ruth sending a sympathy card from the Shinnston High School class of '54, I would not have found Ruth. The first time we chatted, we talked on the phone for 3 hours and 20 minutes. We connected and she knew my heartbreak and helped me. She and my sweet Mom were in the same graduation class. Ruth made me laugh every time we talked - she told it like it was and I admired that about her. She would call me and talk me "home" as I drove from WV to SC. In fact, she called me twice on July 27th to make sure I got home OK. I hope you know what a true gem she was and that I will miss her so much. I hope to meet the family someday...I feel like I know you. My heart aches for you. She was one of a kind. God is holding her now and she is out of pain. She was suffering and was ready to go. Know I loved her. It was God's providence that led her to me when I needed her friendship the most. Love and prayers to all, Linda Parrish Klein

I am so sorry for this loss to a great family. I first met Ruth at Consolidated gas where we both worked. I am sorry I was not able to be there today since something unexpected come up.

I met Ruth in the 60's, I was ten years old. My brother and I had snuck onto her farm land and she caught us. Instead of scolding us and running us off, she told us we were allowed to play on her farm whenever we wanted to. When we grew up, she continued to let us use her farm to deer and turkey hunt on. She was the salt of the earth and I and my entire family will never forget her.

I am so sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing. I worked at Hope Gas with her. I gave her and Charlie a dog back in the late 80’s or early 90’s. His name was Duke. They loved him, and one Christmas she sent me a Christmas Card with his paw print as the signature! She always made me laugh. Such a kind lady. RIP, old friend! Love, Becky Rogers

I hope that Ruth won't mind if these flowers are too pretty or "sissified". She will be greatly missed, but always on our minds and in our hearts.
