Betty has had a special place in my heart for the past 50 years. A group of people decided to start a new church and they would meet in our home until they could get a better meeting place. The day before Mother's Day (May 10, 1970) Betty came to our house to help me move and rearrange furniture to prepare for our first Sunday service. We worked hard all day, moving things stored in our upstairs to the basement, and then moving our girls bedroom upstairs, setting up folding chairs in the living room after we had moved most of the living room furniture to a smaller room which would become our living room for 4 1/2 months. We then rented the Quiet Dell School for a year. I could have never been ready for all the people who came that first Sunday without her help. Every year when Bible Baptist Temple celebrates another anniversary I think of Betty and all the fun we had while working so hard. I would like to invite any of you to come visit Bible Baptist Temple , 9436 Cost Ave., Stonewood , WV and see what God has done through the 50 years of our existence. Your mother had a very important part in it's beginning. I am thankful she was there to help me. I would love to see you again but could not come to the viewing. You're in my thoughts and prayers.
